WHO?

Any amateur or professional cyclist as long as they are over 18 years old can participate in L'Etape Portugal by Tour de France (15 years in L'Etape 50). Since this is a physically demanding cycling event that requires intensive training, we  strongly advise each participant to ensure an adequate and regular medical follow-up.

WHERE?

The 3rd L’Etape Portugal by Tour de France travels to Viana do Castelo, in Northern Portugal. New courses of different levels are available to ensure that all cyclists can participate in one of the most important sporting events in the world.

WHEN?

L'Etape Portugal by Tour de France third edition will take place on Sunday, September 29th, 2024.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT AS A RIDER?

Spectacular courses, fights for the official Tour de France jerseys and an entertainment fair for cyclists, companions and visitors at the arrival area in Viana do Castelo.
Three distances so that everyone can choose their challenge and live the Tour de France experience in the best way.

TROPHIES

CLASSIFICATIONS
For the 3 distances: L'Étape 140, L'Étape 100, and L'Étape 50, the following classifications are established:
- Overall Female and Male Classification;
For the L'Étape 140 and L'ÉTAPE 100 distances, the following classifications are also established:
- Classification by Female and Male Age Groups;
- Sprint Challenge Classification;
- Mountain Challenge Classification for Females and Males;
- Youth Prize Classification (Sub-26).
For the Sprint Challenge classification, the times obtained by athletes in a segment of: to be announced soon.
For the Mountain Challenge classification, the times obtained by athletes on the climb of: to be announced soon.
The first three male and female athletes in the L'Étape 140 distance will be awarded a free entry to L'Étape du Tour 2025, an event integrated into the Tour de France 2025 program, where they can compete for the trophy contested among the winners of various L'Etape events worldwide.

  - Masters A (age between 30 and 39 years)
  - Masters B (age between 40 and 49 years)

L’ÉTAPE 50 – Males

LARGEST TEAM
A prize will be awarded to the team with the highest number of participating athletes who start, regardless of the course. In case of a tie, the first tiebreaker will be the highest number of female athletes from each team who started. If the tie persists, the second tiebreaker will be the highest average age of the team's athletes who started.

NOTE: The presence of the awarded athletes at the official ceremonies is mandatory for the trophies to be presented. In case of absence, the athlete will forfeit the prize, except in cases duly justified by the athletes and accepted by the organization. Trophies will not be sent after the race date.

MEDALS
In all 3 distances, a Finisher medal will be awarded to each athlete who completes the course within the specified time.

TISSOT BY TOUR DE FRANCE WATCH DRAW
At the end of the podium ceremony, a TISSOT watch by Tour de France will be drawn among all participants, to be awarded only to athletes present to receive it on the podium. If the winning athlete is not present, a new draw will be made and, if necessary, up to 3 consecutive in-person draws, until it is given to an athlete present at the podium ceremony. If no winner is present, an online draw will be held at a later date among all participants and the winner will be notified at that time.
