L'Etape Portugal

Through a partnership between Podium Events and A.S.O. – Amaury Sports Organisation, the cycling event for amateurs with the official seal of the Tour de France takes place in Portugal for the third time after a very successful debut in 2022.

L’Etape Portugal, is an exclusive sporting challenge that will take participants to discover the spectacular roads and landscapes of Alto Minho, with the beautiful city of Viana do Castelo as the host of this great event.

L'Etape Portugal is organised following Tour de France's quality standards, with a logistical and image framework that matches the expectations of all amateur cyclists looking for this unique experience.

Ensuring high levels of safety and support given to participants, are priorities at L'Etape Portugal, in order to provide a competitive event for amateur cyclists where more and less competitive athletes can equally enjoy the magic and experience of a L'Etape by Tour de France.

Viana do Castelo is again the hosting city for L'Etape Portugal by Tour de France, with an enticing programme to welcome all athletes and their companions but also other visitors who, between the 27^th and 29^thof September 2024, want to experience the atmosphere of the biggest cycling event in the world.

What is L’Etape du Tour?

Since 1993, L'Étape du Tour has offered amateur cyclists and cycling enthusiasts the opportunity to experience an event with all the atmosphere of the Tour de France.

During one day, in the middle of the Tour de France, the organization carries out an event for amateurs, taking place in the scenarios and the course of one of the most emblematic mountain stages of that same professional event edition.

This event has become a goal for cyclists from all over the world, who travel to France every year in search of this experience. Currently, L’Étape du Tour, attracts cyclists from more than 50 countries, selling out in a few hours the registration for the 15,000 spaces available.

Seeking to bring the magic of this event to all cyclists around the world who vibrate with the legend of the Tour de France, A.S.O. created the L'Etape by Tour de France race circuit, combining this unique sporting challenge with the discovery of some of the most beautiful settings through 5 Continents.
