WHAT IS IT?
Integrated into the program of the 3rd edition of L'Étape Portugal by Tour de France, a bicycle tour aimed at families and anyone who wants to enjoy a moment of conviviality around the bike, and in the end being able to live the experience of crossing the finish line of L'Étape Portugal by Tour de France (day before the race 28th September).
With an exclusively leisure nature, this tour will cover a route of approximately 7 km, mostly flat, departing and arriving at the Viana do Castelo Cultural Center, with an estimated duration of one hour.
The streets used in this initiative will be closed to traffic during the tour, with the event being framed by PSP forces. All participants will travel behind an organization vehicle, which will control the pace of the tour. Participants will also be supported by members of the organization who will travel along the route using other vehicles, such as motorbikes and bicycles.
Participants will use their own bicycles, and any type of bicycle with or without accessories is permitted, as long as it does not have characteristics that endanger other participants.
The tour is open to participants over the age of 6, and those under 11 will only be able to participate if they are accompanied by at least one adult.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Anyone over the age of 6 can participate in the "Family Ride", that is, anyone who has reached the age of 6 at the time of the event.
Participation for children who are between 6 years old and 11 years old at the time of the race is only permitted if they are accompanied by an adult (over 18 years old).
Each adult can support a maximum of two children.
Children who at the time of the test have already turned 12 are allowed to participate alone (without an adult companion).
Children under the age of 6 can participate, but as companions of an adult, carrying their bicycle, using appropriate and approved equipment (seats, cargo-bikes and trailers).
It is mandatory to use an approved cycling helmet. This rule applies to adults and children, whether riding their own bicycles or riding as passengers in adults' vehicles, and failure to comply will result in immediate exclusion.
The participation of any minor requires written authorization duly signed by one of their parents or legal guardian. The draft of this document will be made available for download and printing on the official website of L'Étape Portugal by Tour de France.
PERMITTED VEHICLES
Only the use of two-wheeled vehicles considered as bicycles in light of current regulations is permitted, with any type of bicycle with or without accessories being permitted, as long as it does not present characteristics that endanger other participants.
HOW TO REGISTER?

Registration for the "Family Ride" must be done HERE
Registration for the "Family Ride" will be done on the platform. At the L'Étape Portugal by Tour de France secretariat, located at the Viana do Castelo Cultural Center, on Friday (September 27th), from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Saturday (September 28th) from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, you will have to submit the Authorization Document duly completed and signed, if the child is a minor.
Although free, registration is mandatory. All registrations are personal and non-transferable. Registration is limited to 200 participants.
Required documents
Registration and collection of the participant kit must be carried out by an adult or a person over 12 years of age, carrying a liability waiver signed by their parent.
When collecting documentation and the participation kit, you will need to present the following documents:
• Participant's Identity Card or Citizen Card;
• Copy of the Identity Card or Citizen Card of the parent or legal guardian (for minor participants);
• Responsibility Term duly completed and signed by one of the parents or legal guardian *

The participant kit is collected at the secretariat, immediately after registration.
WHAT DOES REGISTRATION INCLUDE?
Each participant will have a Participant Kit that includes a plaque to place on the bike, a bib number and a personalized bag with the image "L'Étape Portugal by Tour de France.
Registration includes the subscription to personal accident insurance with the following coverage and capital:
- Treatment Expenses: Eur, 4,320.00
NOTE: In accordance with current law, this insurance does not cover Death and/or Disability in the case of children under 15 years of age, only Treatment expenses are covered.
The organization cannot be held responsible for any accident arising from participation in "L'Etape Portugal Family Ride", However, all participants and registered adult companions will be covered by the personal accident insurance taken out by the organization for this event.
MANDATORY EQUIPMENT
In addition to using an approved helmet, all participants and passengers are required to wear their bib, placing it in accordance with the instructions given by the organization.
All bicycles must present the front (plate with the number), placed according to the instructions given by the organization.
IMAGE RIGHTS
Registration in the "Family Ride" and the consequent acceptance of this regulation necessarily implies the authorization of the participant and their legal representative so that the organization can record all or part of their participation, being able to use these images freely for the dissemination and promotion of the event on all media (television, radio, press, internet,
posters, cards, flyers, photos and videos). It thus transfers all image rights relating to the commercial and advertising exploitation of these records, without the right to receive any economic compensation from the organization.
